With the Cisco VPN software I could VPN to the office, join the domain, reboot and all was good. GlobalProtect allowed this too, but with the Cisco one I then logged back in as local admin, connected VPN and switched user to login as the Domain admin. GlobalProtect is not allowing me to do that.
I am trying to joing a computer to the domain via VPN. I have the annyconnect client set up so that it will download on to the client computer and say on there, it will also start up before login. The problem is when I try to join the domain I get the following error: The domain name *name* might be a NetBIOS domain name. 1. Connect tthrough VPN on local admin account. 2. Join PC to the domain and reboot. 3. Sign in with local admin account, connect through VPN, then switch user and log in with domain creds. It authenticates through the remote DC, and you can move on. This was a Windows 8.1 machine theorically speaking, she'd connect and try to join to the domain.. but I don't know if it will work.. that said, you'd find a way to connect to openvpn before user auth on the client (once done).. IMO you'd think about a different solution.. for example, a RDP session..
